Headlight motor grinding when going up or down on your C5? Most likely that flimsey, weak plastic gear has worn out. Replace it with a brass one and don't worry about it wearing it out again. Sold in individual quantities (you must purchase (2) to do both headlights). They replace easily in about an hour and cost about 15% of the cost of a new motor!
